A delightful feast! The spicy potatoes were delicious and there were lots of tasty vegan options for us on the menu. We ordered a range of dishes and they were all very tasty. The service was excellent and we had a fantastic time. Would definitely recommend popping in - we can't wait to go back

The food here is unique, being inspired by the flavours of Kerala. The ingredients are freshly cooked and very tasty. It's good value for money. I've never been disappointed and come here on a regular basis. The service is always attentive. Definitely recommend.

The food is very delicious and the price is reasonable. The grilled fish as a starter is my favorite although it’s a bit spicy. The king prawn starter is also very nice. We ordered a main- chicken stew in coconut sauce, this is probably not the best main for strong taste people as it is quite mild. Compared with amazing starter the main is so so. In terms of the price this meal is definitely worth the value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, considering everything 5 out of 5 dining experience in this restaurant.

Last night (17/04/25) was one of our many visits at Kayal over the years. Very good and friendly service from Vio. The young lady who took our order didn't write anything down but we got everything as ordered. The food, as always, is excellent, particularly the fish dishes. This restaurant was a recommended by a colleague's Indian friend, so we knew it would be good. Always a good experience!

Amazing food! We had masala dosai, two different chicken curries, mutter paneer, appam (hoppers) and kallappam. Every dish hit the spot. Another must try is the ‘triveni’ drink (kiwi, mango and strawberry). Great service provided by the team, especially Vio and Parakruthi! They also do a lunch tiffin box which has very generous portions. Worth a visit!

Kayal Restaurant offers a warm, Kerala-inspired atmosphere that feels familiar and relaxed. The vibes are spot on, with traditional decor and a calm, welcoming setting. The food is decent—some dishes stand out, others feel a little underwhelming. Worth a visit if you’re craving a taste of home, just don’t expect to be blown away.

The Kayal brings back sheer nostalgia and beautiful memories from our Nottingham days....we used to frequent this place when we used to live in Notts 15 years ago. Ever since we left Notts, a lots of things related to the place gradually faded away from our memory, but Kayal was deeply etched in our heart abd we often had Kayal cravings, but had no option as both Notts & Leicester were tooooooo far from where we currently live. Recently, we found out that they have a branch in West Byfleet, and without any further delays, we decided to satiate our hankering for Kayal dishes, and I must say we both were instantly transported back to our Notts days. Every item, starting with the spicy squids....chicken stew and the appams, was bursting with flavours and cooked to perfection. But the showstopper undoubtedly was the Meen porichattu!!!! The service, the decor, the quality and the quantity of food, everything was spot on. I am soooo happy that I now have my most favourite restaurant within fairly easy reach. But I so wish they had a more local branch somewhere in and around Reading!!!! Please, please, please consider this option.
